I’m an amateur photographer. That’s probably the first time I put that into writing and might be the first time I think about it as part of my identity. Just as anyone in my generation (born 1983), I’ve been taking shots ever since digital cameras became abundantly available. About two years ago, I bought my first “serious camera” – a Nikon D3300 – and started to look into photography as a new hobby during the Covid pandemic.
This blog is an experiment. I’m trying to build a memento, capturing my journey through the first two years of my visual self-education – hoping not only to significantly improve as a picture taker, but to build and settle into the habit of developing myself as an amateur photographer.
I’ll try to post once a week for the next 100 weeks – let’s see if I can stick with it.
